Sweet Book Summary:
In this Caldecott Honor installment, the Busdriver needs a break and asks you, the audience, to please “Watch things for him until he gets back and….Don’t let the Pigeon Drive the Bus!” The Pigeon then proceeds to beg you to let him drive the bus. He argues, “I’ll be your best friend…How ‘bout I give you five bucks? It’s just a bus!!!!” This elicits all manners of interaction between the Pigeon and your young audience. The children listening to this book get a kick out of being in charge and parents get a kick out of showing kids their own behavior. |
